July 25, 2026: Petronet LNG Ltd on Friday denied media reports claiming that QatarEnergy was preparing to extend its force majeure through mid-October 2026, saying it is not aware of any such development.

In a clarification filed with the stock exchanges in response to a query from the NSE and BSE on a media report, the company said, "Till date, Petronet LNG is not aware that QatarEnergy is readying to extend Force Majeure through mid-October 2026."

Petronet said it had already informed the exchanges on March 5, 2026, about QatarEnergy issuing a force majeure notice, following which it had declared force majeure to its offtakers, GAIL (India) Ltd, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd under the respective gas sale and purchase agreements.

At the time, the company had said the financial impact could not be estimated as the event was ongoing.
