October 1, 2026: Repono Limited has received approval from North Central Railway for the Engineering Scale Plan (ESP) of its proposed rail-fed Petroleum Oil (POL) terminal at Ajhai, near Mathura in Uttar Pradesh.
The terminal is being developed as a Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal (GCT) at Ajhai station on the Mathura-Palwal section of the Agra Division. The project is being developed under the Government of India’s GCT Policy-2026.
The approval establishes the track layout and rail connectivity design required for the proposed terminal, marking a key regulatory step before construction can begin. Repono said it will now complete the remaining formalities under the GCT framework.
Reliance partnership anchors terminal development
The greenfield terminal forms part of a 20-year agreement Repono signed with Reliance Industries in May 2026. Under the agreement, Repono will undertake the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) scope before assuming responsibility for operations and maintenance.
The facility is planned to receive, store and handle bulk quantities of Motor Spirit, High-Speed Diesel and ethanol through direct rail connectivity. It is also intended to function as a multi-user facility, with capacity available to Reliance and other private and public sector oil marketing companies.
